I was born and raised in Orlando. In 2000 I took a leave of absence from the Sunshine State and lived 6 years in New England…Rhode Island to be exact….just steps from Newport. It was such a great experience living up there with so much history.…. and what’s not to love about being centrally located to NYC, Boston, Cape Cod, Nantucket and Martha’s Vineyard? If you are thinking about vacationing in the New England area….I love to give restaurant recommendations….and I will say…. my friends have never had any complaints! My parents are from North Carolina, so I spent a lot of my summers split between North Carolina with Grandmother Conklin or the mountains at Camp Cheerio outside of Blowing Rock and here in Florida at New Smyrna Beach. Because of my love for the North Carolina mountains, I chose Brevard College a small Liberal Arts College at the base of the Pisgah National Forest. I have so many fond memories of the waterfalls, camping and Friday afternoons on the Blue Ridge Parkway in the convertible. I made lifelong friends there and several of us attend Homecoming and make a point to get together when our schedules make it possible. Friends and family are extremely important to me. I still remain close with many friends from high school…even elementary school. Together we lived through many life changing events and experiences and as a result the bond we share is inexpressible and I am ever so grateful for all of them. After college I worked in the wonderful world of advertising, became burned out after several years and quit. I then decided I would help my mother get her “little” retail gift shop ready to open in our little village of College Park. Easy enough….some cleaning, some painting…..do a little merchandising …of course this was temporary and after the doors opened I would promptly go out and find a “real” job. Gingersnap Station, Ltd. opened in 1984……I stayed for 3 years and in 1987 I opened my own retail establishment next door. The Paper Gallery of College Park was my pride and joy. In 1995 the Gingersnap Station and The Paper Gallery combined and moved across the street and it’s still in operation today. 25 years later our family business remains a fixture in the heart of 32804….College Park. Being in the stationery and invitation business I have seen a lot of our customers “grow up”. It starts with a Baby Shower and Thank You notes for an expectant Mother, then birth announcements for the new arrival…moving on to baptisms, christenings and most Birthday Parties.…High School Graduation announcements, personalized Stationery for College….subsequently it turns into Save the Date Announcements, Wedding Showers….Rehearsal Dinner Invitations….Wedding Invitations...and then there we are…back to Baby Shower invites and Thank You notes….and that my friends… is the circle of life within a small neighborhood stationery store. Because of my many years as a retail business owner...and today….in my Real Estate business…. I still put a lot of emphasis on highly personalized service. Paying attention to detail, consistency, hard work and retention of clientele builds a business…that much I know is true. With that being said…I know I am able to market your home to the buyer that is looking for their next dream as well as helping you finding your house of dreams for you and your family. I look forward to working with you and marketing your home in “My” Orlando that I have always loved. |
